at 10:30am. Our worship is led by a combination of preacher, worship leader, band and organ and is supported by a whole host of volunteers as well as a growing all-age, mixed abilities congregation. Sunday evening worship begins at 6:30pm and tends to more quiet and traditional. We make good use of modern audio-visual technology.
Sunday School (for 5-11 year olds) and youth group (12-18s) run as part of Sunday worship with their own relevant teaching, discussion and activities. All ages are welcome at the Communion Table. Youth Group also meet on a Friday night for band practice and more social activities (football, table tennis, games consoles, refreshments etc).
All-age worship is held on the third Sunday morning each month (our own Rainbows, Brownies and Guides often parade) and services of Holy Communion are planned on the first Sunday morning and third Sunday evening each month. A morning congregation tends to include about 120-150 people, whilst in the evening 20-40 folks attend.
Christian care for members and people who attend is important to us at BBMC. We have an active network of Pastoral Visitors and events to enable this. These include home-visits and extended-communion, coffee mornings and Alpha Courses, women’s and men’s Fellowship Meetings, Prayer Chain and Prayer Requests in weekly worship.
We are pleased to be a part of the developing relationships between the Christian churches in Bamber Bridge not least in Cuerden Church School but also in shared Julian Prayer Meetings, Easter and Christmas public acts of witness and worship. We celebrate, contribute to and benefit from our connection to Methodist Churches across South Ribble and the North Lancashire District.
Our current Community & Worship Centre was dedicated to the work, witness and worship of God in November 2006. Its opening marked a new chapter in the life of BBMC. We seek to connect with, be a part of and serve our local community in the name and example of Jesus Christ. We celebrate the life of the people called ‘Methodists’ for over 185 years in Bamber Bridge.
